Chemglass recently supplied and installed GRP equipment at a new process facility near Barcelona in Spain.
We were approached by a client who, because of the harsh environment at their new Spanish production facility, could only use GRP and 316 grade stainless-steel for access equipment, flooring and supports. We came up with an effective way of combining the requirement for operatives to access high-level equipment, with the need to run cables at different levels, whilst also providing space for both pumps and filters.
Despite having to compete with local GRP companies, we were awarded the contract and commenced work in June 2004. Due to limited space on site, it was necessary for us to rent an industrial unit nearby where items could be fabricated and stored until required.
Over a ten-month period during 2004 & 2005, Chemglass supplied around 60 metres of high-level access platforms, together with hundreds of square-metres of open and solid-top GRP flooring along with over 10,000 metres of pultruded structural sections, including Unistrut rail and fittings. |
